Shine is a safe and confidential space for women who have experienced or are experiencing any type of abuse. This space is for women to gather; to receive support, care and advice whilst connecting with other women facing similar challenges.

Shine is a 9-week referral only program which is designed to equip women with the knowledge and skill to discover who they are and the person they want to become. The program encourages participants to find the strength and courage within their selves to make healthy choices and rebuild their confidence and self-esteem after experiencing abuse.

Many women in our communities do not know or believe they are valuable and unique individuals. Most struggle with this concept due to the pressures of daily life and responsibility. The program aims to develop the understanding of her own personal worth, strength and purpose through activities in a group environment. The program emphasises that to value others, we need to first value ourselves. Understanding what is valuable to a person will assist in their decision-making and relationship skills.

The course is an empowerment tool that uses a holistic approach, reinforces that every woman is different and has different strengths, qualities and skills. As a team we are here to increase awareness about the prevalence, impact and dynamics of abuse within the community, aiming to break the silence and stigma surrounding abuse.
